Men’s Celebrity Beer League Hockey Team Takes Over Nashville

While some people strive to win a Stanley Cup in the NHL, others who couldn’t cut it professionally, strive to win something else: Beer League Hockey!

Players across the country in various leagues in their hometowns have always come together for a night or two a week wherever they live to get away from their wives, partners, kids, work or other life distractions to go hard for 60-minutes with their teammates in order to get a victory. While it sometimes ends up with bloody fights, broken bones or deflated egos, beer league hockey across the United States is the one place non-professionals can always count on going for a good time and long-lasting friendships.

Such was the case recently in Nashville, Tennessee, where a team named The GNashville Rampage recently won their men’s beer league championship out of the Ford Ice Center (where the Nashville Predators practice out of) in a true cinderella storyline; The team started the season with zero wins, but then went on to be undefeated in their second half and throughout the playoffs to secure the championship “Stanley Guitar”, not cup!

The team though, in true ‘Nashville-style’ is made up of Vanderbilt Health doctors, US military veterans, singers, producers, entrepreneurs and every-day blue-collar hard-working men. Some of the more notable players on the team by-name consist of: American Idol contestant Trevor Holmes (who Katy Perry still crushes on to this day), Grammy producer/songwriter Tommy Iceland, PR agency owner Zack Teperman, scientist Dr. Jason Gokey, former college player Denham Kitch and US military helicopter pilot Will Mooney.

The team is so popular in the Nashville area, that after their latest championship victory, a billboard on Broadway (the main party street) went up for all to see, with a short parade in the nearby area where fans honked and shook hands with their favorite “wannabee professionals”.

With a new season coming up shortly, the Rampage are proving that beer league can be as fun as watching a Mighty Ducks movie, and we can’t wait to see what this team of ‘stars’ does next!
