Sean Payton Slams Aaron Rodgers Over Game Day Attitude During Tough Week 1

Sean Payton isn’t holding back on his feelings about Aaron Rodgers.

The Green Bay Packers had a rough go of it in their season-opening game against the Minnesota Vikings in week 1,  and things got a little testy for their QB and face of their franchise.  The Packers star quarterback  was showing all his emotions on  sidelines during the game, with numerous videos surfacing online that clearly showed Rodgers pouting at his team’s performance, but more specifically the play of his wide receivers.

See an example below:

It all started with an open drop by a rookie, Packers wideout Christian Watson.

You know Rodgers is a hot head when things are going as he likes, this is just how he deals with his frustrations on the field.  Former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton discussed Rodgers’ attitude towards his teammates on the “NFL Rhodes Show” podcast with Lindsay Rhodes on Wednesday, saying how Rodgers acted, “drives him crazy.”

“It drives me crazy. Here’s the thing, I didn’t think he played well,” Payton said. “I don’t think Aaron played well. After the game, we go to the interview in the locker room and the very first question posed to Aaron was about bouncing back and he referenced the first play of the game, a dropped pass from a rookie. And I thought, ‘Come on.’ I like Aaron Rodgers but I didn’t like what I saw.”

It will be interesting to see how Rodgers bounces back in week 2, but luckily for him he’s playing the Chicago Bears this weekend, a team he “Owns”
