Nets Asking Price to Celtics for Kevin Durant Revealed

The Brooklyn Nets wanted the Sun, the Moon, and all the Celtics stars.

As tensions continue to rise between Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets, the disgruntled superstar apparently told team owner Joe Tsai to either fire Steve Nash and Sean Marks or Durant will not be staying in Brooklyn. The Nets owner then tweeted that the coaching staff and front office has his full support, signaling which side he’s choosing in KD’s ultimatum.

Unless the Nets lower their asking price, Durant isn’t going anywhere. Boston Celtics reporter Adam Himmelsbach wrote about the possibility of Durant ending up in a Celtics uniform According to Himmelsbach, Brooklyn tried to squeeze Boston for not only Jaylen Brown, the most popular KD trade piece on the market right now, but also Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum.

Via Globe:

“According to the source, Brooklyn initially tried to pry both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown from Boston. That proposal went nowhere, of course. The source confirmed recent reports that Brooklyn later shifted its focus to a potential deal centered on Brown, Marcus Smart, and a massive haul of future first-round draft picks. But the Celtics were not interested.”

Closed mouths don’t get fed, but this is asking way too much for a  34 year old Durant. The Celtics trading both of its superstars for Durant would put them in basically the same position as the Nets are right now, just without Kyrie Irving on the roster. They would be championship contenders on paper but have very little depth.

And Durant wouldn’t be able to  carry them to anything. It’s clear at this point Durant needs plenty of talent around him to win.

He’s definitely not the Seattle Supersonics KD anymore.
