Kyrie Irving picked up his $36.5 million player option Monday afternoon.
At that point it looked like he was there to stay, that is until Kevin Durant requested a trade away from the Nets come Thursday, per Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, roughly three hours before the start of the free-agent negotiating period.

And now, the possibility of the Los Angeles Lakers landing Kyrie Irving becomes realistic again. According to reports, Kyrie is looking to land on his feet in Los Angeles.

According to Brian Windhorst, the Lakers could try to package together a deal that would land them both Kyrie and Durant.

The Nets won’t be required to acquiesce to Durant or Kyrie when it comes to their landing spots.
