Is Ben Simmons ever going to play a game as a Brooklyn Net?
The Brooklyn Nets star was a trade-deadline target for the Atlanta Hawks, according to The Athletic’s Chris Kirschner.
Should the Hawks look to be aggressive and chase a big name in a trade this summer, the report says to “keep an eye on ” the Hawks trying to trade for him.
“I’d also keep an eye on Simmons, too. Several people inside the Hawks’ organization wanted Simmons at the trade deadline. The price might not be as high to land him now, especially if Brooklyn decides to move on before he plays one game for the Nets.”

Atlanta made the playoffs through the play-in tournament but lost to the Miami Heat in five games in the first round.
There’s no guarantee when Simmons does actually returns to the floor that he’ll still be the player who made two All-Defensive teams and was the runner-up for Defensive Player of the Year in 2020-21.
Simmons is currently recovering from back surgery which will keep him out for 4 months.
