Jordan Spieth’s Wife Caught Flak For How She Handled Newborn Baby Following Win

Jordan Spieth is back.

In typical Spieth fashion, the longtime PGA star rebounded from a missed cut at The Masters to win the RBC Heritage after defeating Patrick Cantlay in a playoff on Sunday afternoon.

Shortly after the win, Jordan Spieth’s wife and newborn baby came running to congratulate him for a wholesome moment. But many were quick to notice that Spieth’s wife was carrying the kid a little loosely, and he immediately started crying.

Despite bouncing the baby all over the place, it appeared as though Jordan Spieth and the baby were able to share a nice moment shortly thereafter.

After a rough end to his third round, Jordan Spieth revealed that his wife was there to give him some key advice. He was rushing a tap-in on 18, when he missed, and lost a crucial stroke heading into his fourth and final round.

“I was about as upset after the round yesterday as I’ve ever been in a golf tournament,” Spieth told NY Post after winning a playoff against Patrick Cantlay to emerge from a tightly-packed leaderboard with the win.

“Annie told me last night, ‘You need to take 5 seconds now’ – and she never comments on my golf – ‘you need to take 5 seconds, if you miss a putt, before you hit your tap-in.’ So, I thought about it today. There were a couple times I was just going to rake it, and I was like, no, I’ve got to take 5

Now, Jordan Spieth and his new family will have time to celebrate their win, hopefully propelling him for a successful rest of the season.
