Injuries, More Injuries And Now Covid: Eden Hazard Running Out Of Luck At Madrid

Real Madrid have confirmed that Galáctico Eden Hazard have tested positive for Covid-19. The attacker alongside teammate Casemiro returned positive results after recent rounds of testing and thus will now undergo a period of self isolation. So this virus doesn’t go away after all. Sad.

In an official statement on the club’s website, the news read: “Real Madrid . C.F informs that our players; Casemiro and Hazard have tested positive in the COVID 19 tests undertaken yesterday, Friday in the morning…”.

Since his celebrated arrival at Madrid, Hazard has picked up six injuries, been out for more than 200 days and missed 27 games. In his entire career before moving to La Liga, he’s missed only 24 games. This is not another of his injuries, but of course a setback in his dream of attaining legendary status at this club.

You could very well ask why the Belgian made the move from Chelsea in the first place. The football or the city? Because all seemed to be going well, football-wise at Chelsea. I would only imagine that the blue-white skies of the Ibiza beach seemed to have smiled on the face of Eden hazard more often than his boots have graced the green patches of the Santiago Bernabau.

His gloomy-looking spell at Madrid has been due to little or no fault of his, it must be said. Hamstring, ankle, calf strain, unfortunately Hazard has run out of luck at Madrid, it seems.

A player with such talent and flair, all unfortunate for the Madrid hopefuls who saw so much paid for him, but seen so less. They will be desperate for his return this time yet, hopefully long enough to make a lasting positive impact on their season.
