Athletes everywhere joined Americans in outrage following Friday’s Roe V. Wade decision, and that includes LeBron James.
In a close ruling, the Supreme Court overturned a long precedent making abortions legal nationwide in the United States on Friday morning, which led to a whole bunch of outrage on the web and in the public eye.
While many of the more prominent voices in out society were speaking out against the ruling, LeBron James chimed in on social media.
“It’s ABSOLUTELY ABOUT POWER & CONTROL!!” he wrote in response to a tweet.

Lebron James would also retweet some messages thats hared a similar sentiment about the Supreme Court ruling.
For more than a month, we’ve known this day was coming—but that doesn’t make it any less devastating. Here are my thoughts from when we first saw the draft ruling: https://t.co/aegHc7AoTm

1/9 BREAKING: @margoasnipe here. The Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, a decision that will limit abortion access and potentially exacerbate racial disparities in births. The impacts will fall disproportionately on Black women, who make up about 1/3 of abortions nationwide.

56% of Black people in America live in the south. Rolling back abortion rights in these states will disproportionately impact Black women and birthing people and will severely limit or restrict their access to abortion services. #WinWithBlackWomen pic.twitter.com/6EPL335N19

Love him or hate him, it’s hard to deny that Lebron James has asserted himself as one of the more powerful voices in our country, and there was little doubt he was going to have something to say amid all the outrage that stemmed from yesterday’s decision.
As it stands, LeBron and many other NBA players have joined together to protest against abortions being illegal, and I’d expect their fight to continue into next season’s NBA games.
The abortion debate is only just getting started, and it appears Lebron James will be at the forefront.
