Ben Simmons Reportedly Has Target Dates For His Return

Will we see Ben Simmons in the Nets’ first round playoff series against the Celtics?

For now, the Nets remain mum on whether or not the talented point guard will be joining the team for the postseason. But a new report is indicating that Simmons already has a timeframe for when he might return to the court.

According to insider Shams Charania, Ben Simmons is targeting games 4-6 of the Celtics series as potential games where he’ll make his return.

When speaking about Ben Simmons potential return, Nets  star Kevin Durant claimed that he wasn’t expecting the point guard back on the floor just yet.

“No, I’m not expecting him to play,” Durant said after practice on Thursday via NY Post. “That’s easier for me. I’m not putting any pressure on Ben to come out and hoop. I’m not expecting him to do anything except get his body right and get healthy as fast as he can. I’m preparing as if we’re playing with the team we have.”

Nets coach Steve Nash echoed Durant’s sentiment when speaking on a possible return for Ben Simmons.

“Internally, we’re not sitting here saying Ben’s returning in this series. We’ll see what happens,” he said.

For now, it doesn’t seem like anyone truly knows what’s going on in Ben Simmons’ head. And he very well may be the only guy who really knows what his plan is.

We’ll see if the point guard can find it within himself to make his return for the postseason.
