Timberwolves Deal May Have Resulted in A-Rod, J-Lo Breakup

The Minnesota Timberwolves are reportedly going to be adding a new ownership group to the mix, that includes former Yankees star star Alex Rodriguez. While Walmart CEO Marc Lore is likely the main stakeholder in the reported deal, the former Major League slugger adds some star power to the ownership bid. J-Lo will not be included in the deal, and that may have well signaled the end of their relationship.

According to Page Six, J-Lo had no interest in spending any time in Minneapolis.

Via Page Six:

“It was clear they had split when she wasn’t in the Timberwolves deal like she was in the Mets bid — maybe she didn’t want to move to Minnesota,” a source close to Rodriguez told us, noting the pair’s failed 2020 bid to purchase the New York Mets against rival bidder Steve Cohen.

As a Timberwolves co-owner, Rodriguez will be expected to spend a lot of time in Minneapolis with the team, far from Lopez’s orbit.

J-Lo was directly involved when she and A-Rod tried to buy the Mets.

Owning a team in Minnesota probably wasn’t exactly in J-Lo’s wheelhouse. If this is the real reason they ultimately split, talk about rich people problems.

Plus it’s way too cold for J-Lo.
