It’s Friday, so it’s about time for a weekend edition of the Awesemo Side Action Degen Bet Of The Day!
Just thirty-after-midnight on Saturday morning, the National Rugby League (of Australia) is in full swing of a four-game slate, with the first match of the day kicking off between the North Queensland Cowboys and the South Sydney Rabbitohs. But first, let’s get this out of the way:

South Sydney is the current -250 line favorite heading into early Saturday’s match, a -6.5 (-115) favorite to be exact, and holds a 7-6 record, along with winning three of their past five matches.
Also worth keeping in mind is that the Rabbitohs’ two losses in the five-game span were extremely close matches, only surrendering the wins by a combined eight points: a two-point loss to #6 Newcastle & six-point loss to #5 Canberra. The Rabbitohs also cling to a +52 total point differential.
North Queensland, by considerable contrast, has merely managed a 3-10 record for the season, going 0-5 in their last five matches played and winning just one in their last ten, along an abysmal -104 point differential. The Cowboys are getting a bit too much love with +6.5 (-120); a +220 dog.

Insult to injury for the North Queensland Cowboys, when also taking a look back at the past five head-to-head matchups they’ve had with South Sydney:
Although two of the five games played between the Cowboys and Rabbitohs have come within a combined two points, the fact still remains that South Sydney have the Cowboys’ number. And the general synopsis of the season to-date doesn’t make it any less daunting for the Cowboys, who have allowed the second-most points in the NRL this year.
While there may be more to the line than we skim on the surface, the Rabbitohs will be without back Troy Dargan and forward Kurt Dillon.
South Sydney has racked up points against their opponents in recent weeks, scoring no less than 28 points in their last two outings, as opposed to North Queensland’s blowouts endured, suffering double-digit losses in three of their last four.
Pick: South Sydney Rabbitohs -6.5 (-115)
