The New England Patriots are not going to resign Cam Newton after a pretty mediocre year with the former dynasty. Cam only threw 8 touchdowns on the season, although he did run for quite a few rushing touchdowns. His arm definitely didn’t look very good, and one would think his time in New England would diminish his value moving forward. Apparently not, as Adam Schefter is reporting Washington would be the ideal landing spot for Cam.
Adam Schefter on @TheGregHillShow: "The most natural spot for Cam [Newton] would be Washington if he's going to leave New England."
As for what that contract might look like: "I am going to guess, two years with incentives, $40-50 million."

I love Cam, but 2 years $40-50 million? He must be looking at the back of an old football card. https://t.co/XMAyPHBtFL

Wait…Newton is gonna get a 20+ times raise for what he did last year? https://t.co/fElytECoEF

Cam definitely didn’t do anything to warrant a two year deal with $50 million. This report definitely feels offbase. If you saw Cam Newton throw the football this year, you would know something isn’t right with his arm.
Cam deserves another chance, but not at that price.
