Zlatan Ibrahimovic Doubles Down On His LeBron James Criticism

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and LeBron James clashed last week when Zlatan said that the Los Angeles lakers star should chill with the political activism and stick to basketball. LeBron made sure to answer the criticism from the A.C. Milan forward.

“I will never shut up about things that are wrong. I preach about my people and I preach about equality, social justice, racism, voter suppression — things that go on in our community,” LeBron said via CNN.
“I’ll use my platform to continue to shed light on everything that’s going on around this country and around the world. There’s no way I would ever just stick to sports, because I understand how powerful this platform and my voice is.”
Now, Zlatan is sticking with his message.
“Athletes unite the world, politics divide it,” he said on Tuesday via ESPN. “Our role is to unite the world by doing what we do best. Athletes should be athletes and politicians should do politics.”
I think at the end of the day Zlatan needs to let LeBron do whatever he wants. If Lebron wants to use his voice to speak out on politics, then so be it. If Zlatan doesn’t think that’s necessary, then that’s alright too.
To condemn a fellow athlete for something they say just seems unnecessary to me. Especially when LeBron is just trying to create change for the betterment of his society.
