The Chargers’ Team Doctor Punctured Tyrod Taylor’s Lung On Sunday

After a slew of injuries to players in the NFL this week, Tyrod Taylor’s has to be the craziest one. Evidently, a Chargers team doctor was administering a pain-killing injection for Tyrod Taylor’s cracked ribs when he mistakenly punctured his quarterback’s lung.

Reports have also surfaced that Taylor has been advised by doctors to sit out indefinitely, while the Chargers team brass was hoping to have Tyrod Taylor back for their game on Sunday. What a catastrophic mistake by this doctor. I mean, how does this happen. George Atallah, the Assistant Executive Director of External Affairs for the NFLPA confirmed on Twitter that there will be an investigation into the negligence involved in this bizarre story.

As you can imagine, Twitter was buzzing after this bombshell was dropped.

Justin Herbert did get his first NFL start under these unprecedented circumstances, and he looked pretty damn good. Going up against the heavily-favored Chiefs, Herbert got the Chargers to overtime, where it took a 58-yard field goal by Harrison Butker to seal the deal for the Chiefs.

While Herbert may have done enough to win over the job, the news of Tyrod Taylor’s injury is going to complicate things. You can’t really take a man’s job after your own team doctor punctured the dude’s lung before the game. I’d expect Anthony Lynn to stick with Taylor for as long as possible, if he is fit to play. For now, let’s just hope Tyrod can recover from this mess he was put in by his own team. Let’s also hope that this doctor never gives another shot again in his life.
