Texas HS Coach Tim Teykl Put On Leave For Being Openly Racist Toward Black Players

Texas High School Coach Tim Teykl was put on leave for calling black players who knelt N*ggers and Negroes. Oh, Texas. I can’t say I’m surprised, but things like this continue to happen. And it’s maddening and heartbreaking. According to a former player Teykl has been creating a hostile and racist environment for the last two years.

Tim Tekyl Put On Paid Leave

No way. Someone who openly uses the N-word is creating a hostile environment? Impossible. Teykl is currently on “leave”. That’s pretty much a euphemism for a paid vacation. So many times being put on a paid leave doesn’t even result in a firing. For a long time, the High School refused to name the coach that was under investigation. But now that Teykl has been placed on leave, I feel like it’s pretty clear. However, it is unknown at this time what the punishment will actually be. Because lord knows paid leave is not a punishment.

How do people like this get hired to coach and educate today’s youth? Oh right, it’s Texas. Regardless, paid leave is not enough for something so egregious. In my opinion, this should result in an instant firing. Some of these kids have been dealing with this for over two years. It’s time to lay down the hammer. Fire Tim Teykl for being blatantly racist and creating a negative environment for the school, the team, and most importantly, black people.
