Capitals Tom Wilson Gets Booed At All-Star Game; Goes Out and Scores First Goal 13 Seconds In To The Game

Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson was selected to replace team star Alex Ovechkin after OV tested positive for COVID earlier this week making him ineligible to play in the All-Star game.

Tom Wilson was clearly not a fan favorite as he was even booed as he came on to the ice for his introductions.

Not the usual cheers many expect to hear when they are announced at an All-Star game that’s for sure!

Wilson may have had the last laugh though as he quickly went out and scored the first goal of the All-Star game just 13 seconds in!

Social media definitely thought it was funny to see him scoring this early!

No doubt that going from Alex Ovechkin down to Tom Wilson in less than a couple days is not what fans hoped to see.

While no one is going to say that Tom Wilson is a prolific scorer, his 44 points in 68 games in the 2019-2020 season remain his best career total to date.

Luckily this is an All-Star game and we can throw any sort of stats out the window for these!

The Metropolitan division leads 3-2 over the Pacific with 7 minutes left to go in their 3 on 3 game.
