Sean Payton Being Linked To Cowboys Following The Playoff Loss

Would Sean Payton leave the New Orleans Saints for the Dallas Cowboys?

In the aftermath of Dallas’ loss to the Niners in the Super Wild Card round, many fans and members of the media were calling for cowboys owner Jerry Jones to fire coach Mike McCarthy.

But earlier in the week, the team made it clear that they have no intentions of letting go of Big Mike.

Even if Mike McCarthyis safe (for now), many are still left pondering if the Cowboys would pounce at an opportunity to land Saints coach Sean Payton if he were to explore his options.

Fans reacted to the possibility of Sean Payton joining to Cowboys.

Could The Cowboys Lure Sean Payton?

Yeah, it’s highly unlikely that there’s any real merit to the Sean Payton-Cowboys linking. But if you were to build an argument on why he might want to leave New Orleans, you could say that the quarterback situation is much better in Dallas.

In the hypothetical that Dallas trades for Payton, he would be leaving Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill for Dak Prescott. And he wouldn’t have to deal with being in Tom Brady’s division for (at least) one more season.

No, I don’t think Sean Payton will ultimately ask to be traded from the Saints. But that won’t stop Cowboys fans from dreaming of the coach coming in to fix their mess.
