Don’t look now Knicks fans! The Washington Wizards aren’t that far behind when it comes to being the hottest team in the NBA.

The Wizards secured their eighth consecutive win on Sunday evening, topping the Cleveland Cavaliers 119-110. Nothing to see here. Just the longest win streak the franchise has strung together in 20 years!

Bradley Beal showed out yet again with 33 points. He sits just behind Stephen Curry in scoring on the season, ranking second in the NBA at 31.2 per game. This was also Washington’s 11th consecutive win in games in which Beal has played.

And we can’t forget Russell Westbrook now, can we? It was another strong showing from the 2016-17 NBA MVP as he posted 14 points, 11 assists and 5 rebounds. Westbrook is the only player in the NBA averaging double-digit assists on a per-game basis this season.
He also banked home the dagger jumper in the closing minute so squash any hopes of a Cavs comeback.

Once left for dead in terms of their relevancy for this year’s Eastern Conference Playoffs, the Wizards are looking more and more like a play-in tournament team with each passing victory. They have already cracked the top ten in the standings and are now just six games underwater on the season at 27-33.
Social media sure was loving every bit of the Wizards’ eighth straight win Sunday night.

Daniel Gafford on the streaking Wizards: "We're just one big happy family at this point."

Can the Wizards actually keep this up? Is this reality or merely a dream? All I’ll say is with a backcourt duo like Beal and Westbrook anything is possible.
Add good old Uncle Mo to the mix and Scott Brooks may just coach this “big happy family” right into the NBA Postseason.
