“8+24,” Shareef wrote. No further explanation necessary for Shaq’s son, we all know the meaning behind those two numbers.

Shareef O’Neal wasn’t sure whether he would be allowed to play for LSU this season. He left UCLA in February and committed to LSU. He announced last week that he would be eligible to play this season on Twitter.

“They cleared my waiver man!” he wrote. “Thank god I can play this season. I was waiting and scared it wasn’t gonna happen! Thank you so much.”

It has been a tough two years for Shareef O’Neal. He was an ESPN top 100 recruit coming out of high school, but was forced to sit out his first season with the Bruins after being diagnosed with a right anomalous coronary artery. He had to undergo open heart surgery in order to recover.

It’s great news that Shareef O’Neal is healthy, and eligible to play for LSU. We”ll see what Shaq’s son has on the hardwood this season.
