Michael Jordan’s last game was a unique time in sports history. Jordan was followed by a heavy media presence. Everybody wanted to watch MJ play during his final game. Celebrities like Spike Lee, Warren Sapp, and Patrick Ewing were all in attendance. However, it wasn’t quite the performance fans were expecting. Jordan struggled throughout the night from the field, scoring just 15 points on 6-of-15 shooting, while Washington ended up losing the game 107-87. Nevertheless, it was still a night to remember.

As for the jersey, Jordan reportedly rocked it for the final 2 months of his NBA career, his last 14 road games. The way the jersey got to the auctioning block is actually a pretty cool story, too. Michael Jordan gifted the jersey to the owner of a limousine service that he befriended back in 1984. The two became close over the years and remained in contact all throughout Jordan’s NBA career. The limo driver held onto the jersey for years but is finally deciding to part ways with it. Apparently, like MJ, he was ready for retirement.

The Michael Jordan gamer jersey is part of a larger collection of rare MJ items hitting the auction block, including a pair of signed, game-worn, Air Jordan 1’s from Michael’s 1984-1985 season (TMZ Sports). The jersey, along with the collection of MJ memorabilia, is valued at over a million dollars. And that’s the bottom dollar. If you want to go home with all of the Michael Jordan in-game gear, well, you better be ready to pay the piper.
