Robbie Lawler and Nick Diaz have been in the UFC for a long time, and have a good mutual respect for each other.
But when the two faced off at UFC 266 last month, Diaz looked out of shape and a little disinterested.

After Robbie Lawler dropped Nick Diaz in the third round, Nick basically decided that he didn’t want the fight to continue.
Following the fight, Lawler went over to talk to Diaz. He wasn’t concerned about the beating Diaz took, but rather how Nick was doing “in life”. Robbie Lawler proceeded to tell Nick Diaz to let him know if he can help.
Possibly one of the best post fight interactions in UFC history
Lawler: Are you good?
Diaz: All good man.
Lawler: Are you good… in life? That’s f***ing different. Let me know if I can help.

During his post fight press conference, Nick Diaz made some interesting comments about not being fully prepared to fight Robbie Lawler.
“I’m glad I at least put on a show,” Diaz said. “I knew I had it coming from ol’ Rob and I had a lot of stress coming into this show. I have no excuses. I had a lot of time off and I knew I had it coming. I don’t know how this fight got set up. The way the fight got set up, it was just a bum wrap. But no excuses. He was in great shape.”
The Robbie Lawler fight was Nick Diaz’s first UFC bout in six years. And while the legend kept the door open to fighting again in the future, it appears as though he’ll need time to get himself right physically and mentally.
