LeBron James Says He Nearly Switched To Football During NBA Lockout: ‘I would have made the team’

LeBron James is a freak athlete, and many have speculated that he could have had made it in other sports other than basketball — mainly football.

When the NBA had a lockout during the 2011 season, LeBron claims that he had tryout offers from the Seahawks and Cowboys. He also says he almost went for it.

“I would have made the team,” LeBron James told The Athletic. “I would have tried out, but I would have made the team.”

“One thing about it, I don’t mind working for something, so if I would have had to try out for the Cowboys or the Seahawks, or if I’d have stayed home and went back home to Cleveland, I’d have tried [out], but I would have made the team. I just know what I’m capable of doing on the football field. Especially at that age.”

LeBron James would probably be a tight end if he would have played in the NFL. Sure, maybe he wouldn’t be the best blocker. But picturing LeBron going up on a goal-line fade in the red zone certainly feels like it would be un-guardable.

Unfortunately the NBA ended their lockout in 2011, LeBron got older, and we’ll never know if he would have made it work in the NFL.
