Carmelo Anthony Reveals What LeBron James Told Him During Free Agency Pitch

After years of close friendship, Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James are finally teammates with the Los Angeles Lakers.

In the end, it was reported that Anthony was between the Lakers and returning to the New York Knicks. Obviously, the allure of winning a championship with LeBron was too much for Carmelo to pass up.

When reflecting on what tipped the scale, Carmelo Anthony revealed that LeBron James did plenty of recruiting to get him to Los Angeles.

“The time is now,” Anthony says LeBron told him. “We’ve got to make it happen. We want you.”

While Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James were often compared to each other when they came up in the NBA, LeBron has clearly run away from that conversation.

However, Carmelo has proved his worth as a bench players over the last two seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers.

LeBron and the Lakers aren’t getting the same superstar LeBron James once was, but he should still prove to be a consistent scorer next season.

It would be a great story if LeBron and Carmelo Anthony were able to win a ring together in L.A.
