Knicks Championship Odds on the Move Following Donovan Mitchell Report

The Jazz and Knicks are discussing a deal that would send Donovan Mitchell to New York, sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic.

According to The Athletic, the Jazz are listening to offers from multiple teams, but the Knicks have become the “focused destination.” Both teams have discussed the framework of a deal in the past 24 hours, Charania and Jones report. Based off this rumor, the Knicks Championship odds are shifting. They moved quite a bit after the Knicks signed Brunson, and now they are once again on the move after the Donovan Mitchell rumors.

The Knicks are motivated to present a “significant package” for Mitchell, according to Charania and Jones, but as Begley wrote, they’re wary of giving up too much because they want to have enough depth to be a contender in the East.

If they end up with Mitchell they certainly have a better chance of competing in the East, but they are still very far away from competing for an NBA Championship.

We’ll see what happens with their odds if they actually acquire the Jazz All-Star.
