LaVar Ball is Upset LaMelo Isn’t in the Starting Lineup

LaVar Ball continues to voice his opinion. Charlotte Hornets superstar LaMelo Ball became the youngest player in NBA history to notch a triple double this past weekend. LaMelo finished with 22 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists, while shooting 9-of-13 from the field in 31 minutes off the bench. He’s quickly becoming a Rookie of the Year candidate. LaMelo also went head to head with his brother on Friday night, and LaMelo’s Hornets beat the Pelicans and his older bro Lonzo 118-110. Following the game, LaVar Ball decided to speak out on his son.

He’s not sure why the Hornets aren’t starting his youngest son.

“Tell me, have you ever seen a marquee guy, a marquee guy that you promoting in all of this ‘brothers going up against each other’ and he don’t start?” LaVar said in an exclusive interview with FOX Sports just minutes after the game. “I never seen that before in my life. That’s like telling Michael Jackson, ‘Hey man, you coming on second.’ “

Second of all, LaVar said neither of his sons are being used to their full potential.

He said they’re stuck playing half-court basketball instead of getting to run and showcase what they can do in the open court.

“As they say when you get to the NBA, the speed of the game changes,” LaVar said. “Well, my boys is the only ones who got to slow down when they get to the NBA.”

LaVar Ball is never going to stop talking, that’s what he does best.

Of course LaMelo will eventually be plugged into the starting lineup, only a matter of time. LaVar needs to learn a little patience.

If it were up to LaVar, he’d be coaching the Hornets.
