LaMelo Ball and Carmelo are the two Best Melos in the league. Fittingly, they both balled out last night when they met on the court for the first time. During the first matchup between the two, Anthony scored a season-high 29 points off of the bench to lead the Trail Blazers to a 123-111 victory. He finished by shooting 10-of-19 from the field, including a season-high six 3-pointers in 32 minutes of work.
Following the game, they did a Melo jersey swap.

Melo also blessed LaMelo with his nickname:
Carmelo Anthony on LaMelo Ball also being called Melo: "LaMelo is going to be in the league for a long time so you might as well use it. For me, it's an honor."
On LaMelo doing the 3 to the dome: "I embrace it. I blessed him. He can do it."
And so it is, from the man himself.

Ball is the frontrunner for Rookie of the Year and his latest outing showed he won’t be slowing down anytime soon.
Clearly he’s already earned the respect of vets around the league.
