Kyrie Irving’s “Pawns” Comment Called Out by Kevin Love

The NBA season hasn’t even begun and Brooklyn Nets superstar Kyrie Irving is already making waves. It all started when Kyrie declined to speak to the media, instead opting to release a statement explaining why he won’t be speaking to the media. Then he was fined by the NBA for not talking. Once the fine was handed out, Kyrie responded with some quotes that are evoking some reactions around the league, including from Kevin Love.

Cleveland Cavaliers forward and former Irving teammate, Kevin Love, is not a fan of the guard’s choice of words. Love responded with a very level headed response:

Kyrie Irving does this to himself. He could have just spoken to the media, and there would be no issues. He’s always playing the victim, but in reality, he the Brooklyn Nets pay him a ridiculous amount of money to play basketball.

Sometimes there are parts of your job that suck, but you just deal with them. Kyrie Irving is so selfish he doesn’t even realize how dumb he comes across.

I’m not even talking about his flat earth theory, that’s a whole different ball of wax.
