Internet Reacts to Kevin Durant Fined $50 Grand For DM’s Exposed by Actor Michael Rapaport

Too little too late for Kevin Durant. Durant apologized while speaking with reporters Thursday for the language in his Instagram direct messages. But it was all for naught as he was fined today.

“I’m sorry that people seen that language I used,” Durant said. “That’s not really what I want people to see and hear from me, but hopefully I can move past it and get back out on the floor.”

The exchange began all the way back in December when Rapaport tweeted this:

The tweet was in reference to this interview, in which Durant spoke with TNT’s “Inside the NBA” crew while looking down at the floor.

Durant got hit with a 50 grand fine just a little bit ago:

Being fined for messages that were supposed to be private is a slippery slope.

Were some of the messages inappropriate? Sure. But that’s between him and Rapaport.

The actor definitely won’t be receiving any DM’s from athletes ever again.
