Karl-Anthony Towns Has Lost Seven Family Members Due To COVID, Including His Mother

NBA superstar Karl-Anthony Towns and his family have been hit harder by 2020 than most of us. The Minnesota Timberwolves big man lost his mother due to complications tied to the COVID-19 virus in April. Now, Towns is revealing that he lost six other family members to the virus as well.

KAT went on to talk about how much of a toll the losses have taken on him.

“I’m the one looking for answers to try to keep my family well informed & make all the moves necessary to keep them alive,” Towns says. Karl-Anthony Towns also said that he doesn’t find playing basketball therapeutic during this tough time for him and his family.

“I’ve never been in a mentally good place since (his mother) went in the hospital” the Minnesota Timberwolves star says. “I wouldn’t say (basketball) is therapy for me at all”

As we near the beginning of the NBA season, it’s important to recognize what a lot of these guys are going through away from the game. This virus has taken its toll on so many people. I can’t even imagine what Karl-Anthony Towns is going through.

Prayers up to KAT and the entire Towns family.
