J.J Watt Spoke On The Possibility That Sunday’s Game Was His Last As A Houston Texan

Houston Texans defensive lineman J.J Watt has taken the city of Houston under his wing, and the Texans faithful has had his back through thick and thin. The love affair between Houston and Watt is one of the many reasons that this season has been so hard for the aging superstar. The Texans finished their season 4-12, and will have a new head coach and GM next year.

With so much in question, J.J was very aware of the possibility that Sunday could have been the last time he ever puts on a Texans uniform.

Watt was asked whether he considered that this could have been his last game as a member of the Houston Texans in his post game presser.

“I’ve certainly considered it,” Watt said. “Like I’ve said, there’s too many unknowns to really know. But if it is, it’s unfortunate that it wasn’t in front of a full stadium and all of the fans. It’s unfortunate it wasn’t a win. It’s unfortunate it’s in this type of a season. …

“I think this city knows. I hope they know how I feel about them, how thankful I am. I’ve tried to do everything I possibly can and give everything I possibly have.”

In this video, you can clearly see how emotional J.J Watt is. He has been the face of the Texans franchise for so long, while also being a fixture in the community.

I sure hope whoever the Texans bring in to run their football operations understands how important J.J Watt is to this team. The man deserves to be a part of the next winner in Houston. Here’s to hoping he’ll see that happen sometime in the near future..
