Colin Kaepernick Tweets Saying He Is NFL Ready After 1,363 Days

Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick is still trying to make a comeback after years without playing. Kaepernick has been out of the league since 2016 when he began kneeling for the national anthem. However, he had a clear message for the NFL about his readiness to play on Monday. Kaepernick tweeted a video that included his football training. Take a look and see for yourself.

It’s been four calendar years since we have seen Kaepernick suit up in an NFL jersey. If he hasn’t gotten signed by now, it does not seem likely that he ever will again. But according to Kaepernick, he is still NFL ready.

Pro Football Talk seems to think otherwise.

“There’s no point saying it should happen, because it won’t happen. It won’t. I’ve been called many things (some of which can actually be printed here), but at my core I’m a realist.

Kaepernick won’t be contacted. Kaepernick won’t be offered a chance to work out for the Bengals. Kaepernick won’t be offered a contract for the minimum salary for the balance of the year.

It just won’t happen. The ship has sailed. The lights are out. The party is over. The book is closed. Many other cliches could be used to convey the idea that it’s just done.”

As sad as it is for Kaepernick, unfortunately, I think this guy is right. By the looks of it, not even a global pandemic, or injuries to quarterbacks like Dak Prescott and Joe Burrow will pave the way for Kaepernick to make his way back into the NFL. It sucks to see someone who, at one point, looked so talented get blackballed the way Colin Kaepernick has. But if an NFL team were going to take a chance on him, it would have happened already.

Looks like it’s 1,363 days and counting for Kaepernick.
