Bettors Were Enraged After Kyle Schwarber Seemingly Got Shafted During Home Run Derby

Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber came into Monday night’s Home Run Derby as one of the favorites to win the event.

However, he was shockingly upset by 42 year old Albert Pujols following a first round playoff. Still, it feels like Schwarber got the short end of the stick during his short outing.

After the derby ended, people on social media were quick to recognize that ESPN miscounted Schwarber’s playoff home run total, meaning he should have really gone to a 2OT with Pujols.

Check out the mistake:

Bettors who took Kyle Schwarber — along with fans — weren’t happy about the series of events.

Perhaps Kyle Schwarber’s last home run didn’t count because the pitch was released after the buzzer?

However, that scenario is kind of hard to believe considering they were giving the hitters the benefit of the doubt all night long.

Still, Kyle Schwarber didn’t seem too upset to be losing to a legend such as Albert Pujols. But his fans, and his Home Run Derby bettors, will be talking about how he got screwed for a long time to come.
