Baker Mayfield Calls Out Ex-Sooners Running Backs Coach After Trey Sermon’s Incredible Performance

Baker Mayfield sure likes to make enemies. Everywhere Baker has been, he’s always calling people out acting like he has a huge chip on his shoulder. That was evident last night when Mayfield felt the need to slam ex-Sooners running backs coach Jay Boulware for the way he handled running back Trey Sermon before he left for Ohio State.

“How’s UT?” Baker tweeted right at Boulware.

Boulware, who now coaches with the Texas Longhorns, responded, “thanks for recognizing how well the RB’s I recruited are doing. đŸ€˜đŸŸ.”

After Boulware clapped back at Baker Mayfield, he had to get in the last word.

“They came and played in spite of you
 @OU_CoachGundy recruited the backs
 Lol,” Mayfield responded.

Whoever was at fault for letting Trey Sermon slip through the cracks at Oklahoma was definitely embarrassed on Friday night. Sermon absolutely dominated the Clemson Tigers defense. He had 31 carries for 193 yards and a touchdown to go with four receptions for 61 yards.

Not a good look for Jay Boulware, if he was the guy behind Sermon’s decision to transfer. We’ll see if Boulware lasts through the regime change at Texas, as it was announced earlier today that Longhorns coach Tom Herman was fired.

As for Baker Mayfield, he should worry a little bit less about trying to troll former position coaches, and a little bit more about what’s in front of him.

If Mayfield’s Cleveland Browns don’t beat the 12-3 Pittsburgh Steelers tomorrow, they could be in jeopardy of missing the playoffs.
