Tom Brady, Sean Payton Linked To Miami Dolphins In 2023

Earlier in the week, it was reported that a Tom Brady-Dolphins deal was close to coming together in the offseason.

According to the story, the plan was for TB12 to purchase ownership stake in the Dolphins. And when the Bucs figured out their plan for Brady’s replacement, Miami would then try to work out a deal which would allow him to play QB for them.

However, when Brian Flores opened a lawsuit against the Dolphins, it reportedly ruined any chance for them to land Tom Brady and his preferred coach, Sean Payton.

But even though it might not work out for this season, a new report is indicating that the Dolphins might still look to land Tom Brady and Sean Payton in 2023.

“They have spent a ton of cash there,” an NFL exec told insider Mike Sando via TPS. “If this team does not make the playoffs, I see Miami doing two things. They will trade for an established quarterback and they will also be back in the big-fish game for a head coach.

“If Tom Brady does not redo his contract, it does not take a rocket scientist to know that Brady and Sean are going to be in Miami next year.”

As it stands, Tom Brady is returning to the Buccaneers for one more season. And the Dolphins appear to have found their coach of the future in Mike McDaniel.

It feels hard to imagine that in just one year, Brady and Sean Payton will take over in Miami, but I suppose crazy things are happening around the NFL in this day-in-age.

For now, Tom Brady is likely focused on notching his eighth championship this season.
