NFL Releases Another Statement On Deshaun Watson Following Latest Lawsuit Developments

Deshaun Watson might have thought he was cleared of criminal threats after his sexual harassment case was dismissed last week.

But earlier today, it was revealed that another grand jury in Texas was considering bring on a different charge on Watson, specific to one particular incident with a massage therapist.

But later in the day, the grand jury opted not to bring on a case against Deshaun Watson.

The NFL released a statement claiming they have been continuously tracking the legal issues pertaining to Deshaun Watson, but they have not concluded their own, separate, review.

“‘After a careful and thorough review of the facts and evidence documented in the reports prepared by the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office and the Houston Police Department, as well as hearing testimony from witnesses, the Grand Jury for Brazoria County has declined to charge Deshaun Watson with any crimes. Accordingly, this matter is closed,’ Brazoria County District Attorney Tom Selleck said in a statement,” via ESPN.com.

For now, it remains unclear whether a suspension could still be in order for Deshaun Watson.

But the Browns certainly can’t be expecting many repercussions from the league given the massive haul they sent to the Texans in order to acquire the star quarterback.

Nevertheless, it still feels like we haven’t reached the conclusion of the Deshaun Watson allegations. And we’ll continue to track for any and all updates.
