Kyler Murray Reportedly Won’t Play Next Season Without A New Contract

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray found himself back in the news over his contract situation again on Thursday.

Earlier in the offseason, Murray swiped everything Cardinals related from his Instagram account, seemingly in protest to not receiving a new contract from the organization.

But after maintaining his loyalty to Arizona, things have been relatively quiet on Kyler’s front, until now. It was reported on Thursday afternoon that Kyler Murray has no intention of playing the 2022-23 season without a new contract in place.

Not only that, but NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero is also reporting that the Cardinals haven’t even extended a contract offer to Kyler Murray, and don’t appear to be in any rush.

Kyler Murray started off as an MVP candidate in the early going of last season. But after injuries and inconsistent play riddled the dynamic quarterback down the stretch, his season was culminated by a lackluster performance against the Rams in the playoffs.

Still, Murray figures to be a top talent in the NFL for many years to come.

If Arizona wants to continue to build on their success from 2021, they’re going to have to make sure their franchise quarterback is happy once Training Camp rolls around.
