Decision Has Reportedly Been Made On Tom Brady’s ‘Final’ Touchdown Ball

Always be careful when you buy something you can’t necessarily return.

When Tom Brady announced he was unretiring,. his final touchdown ball became meaningless, and the unidentified buyer of that football became the butt of jokes. But it looks like he may just get the last laugh.  According to Action Network’s Darren Rovell, the auctioneer Lelands has agreed to not go through with the sale. This decision comes after the collector who had agreed to purchase the ball for $518,000 expressed his desire to void the sale.

The man’s attorney, Jeffrey Lichtman, said his client was “mortified” when he heard Brady was coming back.

A collector paid $518,000 for Tom Brady’s last touchdown ball.

Roughly 19 hours later, Brady unretired.

The buyer didn’t want to pay.

According to Lichtman the fact Lelands worded the ball as Brady’s “last” touchdown helped his client get out of the sale.

“At the time, it was an honest description,” Lichtman said. “Had they described it as his last one, as of now, there would have been little recourse. But the way they described it, it was definitive.”

The ball has reportedly been returned to the person who caught it after Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans threw it into the stands.

Hopefully Lelands will learn a thing or two from this incident.
