Kevin Durant Posts First Message Since Warriors Championship

For the first time since 2015, the Golden State Warriors won a NBA Title without the services of Kevin Durant.

After winning the NBA Finals MVP in both 2017 and 2018, Durant has failed to make a deep run in the postseason since his day in The Bay — while the Warriors have continued their dynasty.

On Friday night Golden State was able to win their fourth championship in the past seven years, thus cementing Steph Curry’s legacy and proving he doesn’t need Durant or any other alpha to reach the pinnacle of his sport.

While Kevin Durant has stayed mostly quiet throughout the Warriors run this season, he took to social media to post his first message since the championship on Friday.

When a fan insinuated that Durant’s legacy is now “dead”, he responded immediately.

“I been dead since July 4th 2016, but congrats to the dubs and my boy Steezy, a Fillmore legend, man been waitin his whole life for a parade on market st.,” he said on Twitter.

In his second season as a member of the Brooklyn Nets, Kevin Durant and his squad straggly mightily to reach their championship aspirations, and would wind up losing in the first round to the Boston Celtics.

By all indications, it appears the Nets are intent on running back the same nucleus of Durant and Kyrie Irving next season.

Despite the unfortunate turn of events for Kevin Durant and the Nets in 2021-22, expect the superstar forward to come back with a vengeance next season.
