The Brooklyn Nets are easily one the most drama plagued teams in the NBA.
The Nets’ season ended the same way it began, with problems that impact the franchise’s future. Now it appears the Nets aren’t will to give Kyrie Irving and extension, and to make matters worse, Kevin Durant hasn’t spoken to the Nets front office since they got swept by the Celtics. The Nets have several pressing issues to resolve before the start of the 2022-23 season.
Now they have to deal with KD.
As Winfield notes, Kevin Durant and Nets haven’t spoken since the season ended, and things can get ugly if they don’t re-sign Kyrie Irving.
Appears Brooklyn is reluctant on giving Kyrie a long-term deal. https://t.co/M1UK8ieDFy

As this reporter bluntly states, Durant is not going to want to play in Brooklyn if Kyrie is no longer there.
It’s common knowledge that Durant is committed to playing with Kyrie Irving. Letting him walk would only open the door for KD to demand out.
Marks is playing with fire if he can’t find a middle ground with Kyrie.

The Nets still have plenty of questions with Ben Simmons’ future with the team.
Building a team the old fashioned way almost seems easier than trying to acquire a super team.
Be careful what you wish for…
