Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Apologizes After Throwing Shade At LeBron James

NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had some critical comments towards LeBron James and his activism when speaking recently.

ā€œI admire the many things he has doneā€¦sending a whole school to college, wow, thatā€™s amazing, his thoughtfulness and willingness to back it up with his walletā€¦gotta give him credit for thatā€¦but some of the things heā€™s done he should be embarrassed about,” Kareem said following a presentation ceremony.

On Tuesday, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar shared a heartfelt apology for what he said regarding LeBron James.

ā€œAll I have to say is this: I was there to giveĀ Carmelo Anthony the NBA Social Justice Champion Award. Iā€™ve been talking to the press since high school, thatā€™s 60 years of making statements. And I havenā€™t always gotten it right. And Sunday was one of those nights,ā€ Abdul-Jabbar said Monday on SiriusXM NBA Radio, via ESPN.com.

This isn’t the only time Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has been critical of LeBron James. He also threw shade at some of LeBron’s on-court antics.

For now, LeBron James hasn’t responded to any of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s comments. And I wouldn’t be surprised if he just lets the former great talk without worrying too much.
