Jimmy Butler Trolls Joel Embiid Over Mask Comment

Masked Joel Embiid proved to be all the Sixers needed to get back into the series against the Miami Heat, but that doesn’t mean Jimmy Butler is about to be intimidated.

Following the 76ers 99-79 win over Miami on Friday night, Embiid took to social media to send a message to all the fans who were loving his masked appearance.

“No one cared who I was until I put on the mask,” the MVP candidate joked on Instagram, using a line from The Dark Knight Rises.

Jimmy Butler was quick to respond to his former teammate.

After the Sixers won’t heir first game of the series, Jimmy Butler gave all the respect to Joel Embiid.

“You add Jo to any team, home or away, the game, the scouting report, it changes drastically,” Butler told reporters about Embiid’s return. “It’s been like that for his entire career.”

Joel Embiid and the Sixers will look to even up the series at home against Jimmy Butler’s Heat on Sunday night.

Now that the Sixers have their big man back, things could start to get real interesting.
