Ben Simmons, Maya Jama React to Reports They Broke Up and Called Off Their Engagement

The blogs are talking, and they kept saying the same thing, Ben Simmons and his fiancé have broken up.

Ben Simmons and his fiancé squashed break up rumors as the NBA star shared a loved-up picture of the pair on Monday. This past weekend a source claimed the pair’s relationship had hit the skids after Maya decided she wanted to focus on her career. Taking to his Instagram Stories, the Brookyly Nets player showed they are very much still together, as he shared a black and white throwback picture of the pair together.

He captioned the pic: ‘@mayajama almost a year older’ followed by a laughing and heart emoji.

Maya also took to her Twitter account to seemingly deny the report.

‘Stop believing sources in papers plz,’ she tweeted Sunday, a day after the breakup report came out.

According to the Sun, it was speculated that they had ended their romance last month.

Via the Sun: 

A source told the Sun on Sunday: “Maya called it off engagement after things came to head last month.

“She is not going back to New York now. It’s heartbreaking for both of them, especially as they were so committed to each other.

“They’re both young and want to focus on their careers.

We broke the story, Ben popped the question to Maya last Christmas following a seven-month romance.

At this point Ben’s off the court drama is about the only action he’s getting.

The former Sixers star hasn’t played ball in over a season.
