Brooklyn Nets Overall Win Total Comes Into Question Following Kevin Durant’s Ultimatum

Despite the general assumption that Kevin Durant would be returning to the Brooklyn Nets when he wasn’t moved prior to the NBA Draft, he evidently still has not changed his mind.

Today, a report claims that Durant once again went to Nets owner Joe Tsai to re-iterate his stance that he would like to be traded prior to the season.

Now, the Nets are left with a clear decision: move on from general manager Sean Marks and head coach Steve Nash, or trade KD away.

Shortly after the Kevin Durant news hit the web, bettors were swarming the books to try to decide if the Nets have a win total number for next season that is still sitting too high.

Per Draftkings, the Nets currently have an o/u set at 45.5 games for the upcoming season.

Last year, the Nets went 44-38 with Durant playing in 55 games. In those games, KD averaged his highest PPG (29.9) since days with the Thunder.

All season long, Kevin Durant was tasked with putting the team on his back while Kyrie Irving was sidelined due to his COVID vaccine decision. And even though Irving maintains that he would like to play all year, KD’s absence should be enough to lock in a much worse season for the team

So the question bettors now have to face is simple: are you willing to place a wager under the impression that KD will not suit up for Brooklyn next season?

If your answer to the question is “yes”, then slamming the under on 45.5 games seems like a lock.

Definitely a risky bet, though.
