Magic Johnson Envisions Chris Paul Teaming Up With LeBron James And The Lakers After Finals Loss

Chris Paul fell short of winning his first NBA championship this year.

As the playoffs went on, it looked like Paul got a little worn down in his age-36 season. But after the finals concluded, CP3 shrugged off the idea that he was even thinking about retirement.

“It will take a while to process this or whatnot, but it’s same mentality. Get back to work. I ain’t retiring, if that’s what you’re asking. That’s out. So, back to work.”

Chris Paul has a $44.2 Million player option with the Suns for next season. With that being said, maybe he’ll want to go ring chase with another team. And what better place to do that than with his buddy, LeBron James, and the Los Angeles Lakers?

That was Magic Johnson’s thought, at least.

A big three with Chris Paul, LeBron James and Anthony Davis would be pretty deadly. But they’d also be competing with a lot younger rosters around the league.

Brooklyn will be running it back with Kyrie, KD and James Harden. And we’ve just seen what young stars Giannis, Trae Young, Devin Booker, etc. are capable in these playoffs.

My guess? Chris Paul will accept the option and run it back with the Phoenix Suns.
