Like many Lakers fans, Vanessa Bryant isn’t all too impressed with the recent news regarding the Staples Center.
On Tuesday night it was announced that the Staples Center was set to change its name to Crypto.com Arena beginning on Christmas Day.
Staples Center – the iconic home of the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers among others since 1999 – will have a new name beginning Dec. 25: https://t.co/lur8Hbuv0r Arena. It’s believed to be the largest U.S. venue naming rights deal to date.

While Lakers Twitter was blowing up to slam the new name and deem that they’re still calling it Staples Center, Vanessa Bryant chimed in.
She put her foot down – saying that the REAL name of the stadium is “The House That Kobe Built”.

Vanessa Bryant isn’t wrong, and as long as the Staples Center or Crypto.com Aena or whatever they want to call it remains in the same place, the main legacy of the building will always have to do with what Kobe Bryant was able to do during his storied career.
The Lakers have maintained a close relationship with Vanessa and the Bryant’s after the tragic death of The Mamba. And she will likely continue to be a guest of Jeanie Buss and the Lakers for many years to come.
Even without Kobe here, Vanessa Bryant is doing a great job making sure his legacy isn’t lost on anyone around the NBA.
