The Washington Football Team Hired Jason Wright, The First Black President Of An NFL Team

The Washington Football Team finally did something right, announcing Monday morning that Jason Wright has been hired as the team president. This marks the first time a black man has become president of an NFL team, which is wild considering most of the league is made up of black men. Wright played football in college at Northwestern and went on to have a seven year career in the NFL as a running back. After his retirement from the league he went back to school at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and received his M.B.A. Wright has a long list of accomplishments and was most recently working at the management and consulting firm McKinsey & Company so I’m sure he is well suited to take on this new position.

Anyway, for the first time in a while there is some great news coming out of Washington. Jason Wright seems like a breath of fresh air and with the scandals that have recently come out about the environment around the team, I hope he gets a chance to clean the place up. It sounds like he will be heading up the business side of things and new head coach Ron Rivera will be in charge of the football side. They both report directly to team owner Dan Snyder. I don’t care much about The Washington Football Team but I am actually pretty excited about this, the team doesn’t even have a damn name right now. Hopefully with new leadership things will start to change and it will be a better culture and work environment for everyone involved.
