The NBA Has Metaphorically Dunked On All The Sports With No Positive COVID Tests Since July 20th

The MLB and NFL have struggled to keep COVID spread curtailed thus far, though both have games and camps scheduled to go on as planned. The PGA and NASCAR have also found their own COVID cases in recent weeks. And the MLS bubble? Not great! But the NBA has planned and planned and had 100 page documents. And now they have reaped what they sowed: No new positive COVID tests the day before the league restarts, as Shams Charania reports.

I don’t know that this represents hope for all of us, or even the other sports, with how diligently handled and expensive the Orlando NBA bubble is But it’s FANTASTIC news for all of us who have been jonesing to burn money on the league’s return to action. Even with the burning desires for Postmates delivery or strip club wings, the fellas have made this all work on all of our behalves.

Now that we’ve reached this zero percent rate of infection, let’s hope the players and staffs, workers, and every single person involved keeps this NBA bubble as pristine as it is right now. The petri dish that is MLB will be jealous but, hey, the NBA has to lead by example. For now, the NBA represents some kind of hope. Exceedingly overcautious, groupie sex risk-infused hope. And that’s the kind of hope I can really get behind.
