Stephen Curry Receives Another NBA MVP Endorsement From Fellow Star Ja Morant

This week, the finalists for all NBA Awards were announced, including those for Most Valuable Player. Although he is far from the betting favorite to win the award, Stephen Curry has received yet another endorsement from a fellow star.

Earlier this week, LeBron James went on the record as saying he believes Curry should be named the NBA MVP for the 2020-21 season.

Well, after knocking the Golden State Warriors out of the NBA Play-In Tournament on Friday, Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant had a similar opinion:

And there it is. Well said, Ja.

Furthermore, it appears that the young face of the Grizzlies franchise doesn’t even see the MVP race as being close:

So if both LeBron James and Ja Morant have publicly endorsed Stephen Curry for the NBA MVP Award, what’s the hold-up?

Curry is joined as an MVP finalist by a pair of centers. Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets was a MASSIVE favorite to take home the hardware in the betting market when the season came to a close. Fellow big man Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers is pretty much out of the running after missing several games with an injury.

Both Nikola Jokic and Stephen Curry were outstanding all season long. Each has a legitimate case to win the NBA MVP Award. The former nearly averaged a triple-double (26.4 points, 10.8 rebounds, 8.3 assists) and dragged the Nuggets to the 3-seed in the Western Conference Playoffs despite the loss of co-star Jamal Murray to a torn ACL.

Then there’s Curry, who won the scoring title for the season after averaging 32.0 points per game. Although the Warriors will not participate in the official NBA Postseason bracket, they wouldn’t have had a sniff of even reaching the play-in tourney if not for Curry.

Keep in mind that fellow splash brother Klay Thompson missed the entire season once again. The only major difference between last year’s Golden State team that picked No. 2 overall in the NBA Draft and this year’s squad was a healthy Steph Curry.

So, if we’re talking ‘most valuable’, I agree fully with Ja Morant. The Warriors’ star would be my choice for NBA MVP. And like Morant, it’s not even close.

I guess this also means that I agree with LeBron James on the topic at hand. All I can really say to that is there’s a first time for everything!
