If you’ve ever tried your hand at sports betting, you are bound to have at least one or two awful wagers on your resume. You know, those “WTF WAS I THINKING” kind of bets? Yup, we’ve all been there.
Now whether you’ve had one as delusional as this Cleveland Browns bettor’s ticket is another story.

It’s hard to say what exactly this guy was thinking when he decided to bet the Browns to finish with the worst record in the NFL for the upcoming 2021-22 season:
Like seriously, does he realize that these aren’t the same old Cleveland Browns anymore?!
We all remember very well the decade before this when the Brownies were the laughing stock of the league. And it was just as much a thing at the betting window as it was on the field:

From a betting perspective, the Cleveland Browns were the worst NFL team of the decade by a wide margin.

But carefully note the date of the above Tweet: December 30, 2019!!!
It’s a new decade and the Cleveland Browns have undergone a full-blown makeover. In fact, the same FanDuel Sportsbook where this bettor place this ridiculous wager had the Browns among the top-seven teams in terms of odds to finish with the BEST record this season:
Odds for “Team with the best record” is now up at FanDuel.

The fact that this isn’t just some silly $10 bet only makes it even more absurd. Dude literally just dropped $700 on what very well may be the best Browns team in my lifetime to finish dead last in the NFL!
But even if we give him the benefit of the doubt and trust that he does know it’s 2021, what about the Houston Texans? The Detroit Lions? Did those two pathetic franchises withdraw from the NFL or something??
All I can say is I wish I had $700 to just throw away like that.
