Sports Media Mogul Colin Cowherd Set To Own New Podcast Network

The pandemic gave Colin Cowherd some time to think about his next career move. He has his show “The Herd” that airs everyday Monday-Friday on FS1 as well as on the radio. But he was looking fo another business venture, and he made it happen. Cowherd announced on his Twitter today that he will be the owner of a brand new podcast network called “Volume”.

This will allow for much more advertising opportunities, as well as giving Colin Cowherd another platform to go on his daily rants about sports news.

“We’re in an on-demand world,” Cowherd said via Bloomberg. “You can do real-time commentary now with no barriers. I don’t have to drive to a studio, don’t have to put makeup on. I don’t have to go to a studio and get miked up.

“This will be the rawest, most authentic version of me. It’s me at home.”

Cowherd went on to say that he’s looking forward to the chance of creating opportunities for youngsters in the sports media world.

“I can age more elegantly if I curate talent,” he said. “I want to create this really smart, thoughtful podcast network where I do for young people what somebody did for me.”

Cowherd is following in the footsteps of his former colleague at ESPN Bill Simmons, who recently sold his podcast company, the Ringer, for $250 million to Spotify Technology SA.

Colin Cowherd has built a hell of a career in sports media, and he continues to find ways to build his brand.
